Bagno Vignoni is a charming resort surrounded by Medieval villages and castles and characterized by a large square which hosts the thermal swimming pool.
An ancient thermal resort appreciated by Etruscans and Romans, it hosted Lorenzo il Magnifico and Pope Pio II Piccolomini who in the first half of 1400 commissioned there a country residence which has recently been transformed into an hotel.

The waters are bicarbonate-sulphate-alkaline-muddy hyper thermal (51°C) and flow from a spring which has fed a large tank since 1500. They are used for:
- mud baths (to treat rheumatic and neuralgic diseases)
- inhalations and irrigations (to treat otorhinolaryngological and gynaecological inflammations). |
