ASCENT OF MOUNT AMIATA
CHIANCIANO - LA FOCE - BAGNI SAN FILIPPO - ABBADIA SAN SALVATORE - VETTA AMIATA - ABBADIA SAN SALVATORE - BAGNI SAN FILIPPO - LA FOCE - CHIANCIANO
*Itinerary with long climbs and steep slopes. Particularly hard are: the climbing which from Cassia leads to Abbadia San Salvatore; the one which, after a 800-metre-long drop, leads to the top of the Mount Amiata; and the last one situated along the way back to Chianciano.
INTERESTING SPOTS: The landscape of Val d’Orcia, with the beech- and chestnut-trees which characterize the Mount Amiata. The old town of Abbadia, with the popular monastery and its crypt; the Terme di San Filippo with their hot and sulphurous waters.
